On October 19, Janicki employees, friends, and family members gathered at Silver Arrow Bowmen in Mount Vernon for the first-ever Janicki Archery Tournament. It was a day full of friendly competition, good laughs and a chance to show off some bow skills.
The event featured a 2-mile course with 18 targets, each inspired by Janicki products.
Shooters included Noah Haworth, Josh Emmel, Jake Thramer, Jake Howarth and his family, Ivan
Werne, Grady Wolf, Katelyn Berrey, Shane Flynn, Gaven Hannasch, Josh Bavaro and his family, and the Bogh family.
The competition was tough, but Gaven Hannasch came out on top, earning first place and an impressive trophy. Shane Flynn took home the win for the Carbon Dot Challenge, with the prized dot now displayed proudly in the B9 lunchroom. A long-range challenge at88 yards saw Jake Thramer nail the “Closest to the Middle” win, while the kids had their own division where Oakley, Josh Bavaro’s son, claimed first place.
Adding to the fun, a balloon pop game gave participants a chance to increase or lose points, with opportunities to win Riverside Archery gift cards. The day ended with a tie for third place between Josh Bavaro and Noah Haworth, leading to an exciting shoot-off where Josh clinched the spot.
With so much enthusiasm from this first tournament, there’s already talk of making it an annual tradition, with hopes for more participants and sponsors next year. Thanks to everyone who came out and made the day.
